Does Walmart Take Apple Pay In 2022?
Unfortunately, Walmart does not support Apple Pay at all as of 2022. However, they do accept payment via MasterCard, Visa, Checks and other forms of credit card payment such as PayPal. In addition to these options, you can also pay with cash.

There is now an app that allows you to link credit/debit cards directly to your phone and pay from there straight away.
The app is called “Walmart Pay” (iOS version here) and is available in the Apple App Store.
Once downloaded, this will allow you to scan QR codes with your camera instead of having to swipe or type anything directly into the register.
Once a QR code is scanned, this will open into your mobile application. To initiate the payment process, you can either pay by debit or credit card;
In which case the payment will be processed instantly and you will receive your receipt via app.
Why Doesn’t Walmart Accept Apple Pay?
Before the company came out with Walmart Pay, they had another reason not to accept Apple Pay. It was because of an allegiance with a company called Merchant Customer Exchange or MCX that uses Current payment products. Google Pay and Samsung Pay are also competitors of this local ecosystem so by 2020, there will be no QR codes accepted in it instead only contactless payments through NFC and Bluetooth technology.
Additionally, another reason why Walmart is resistant to accept Apple Pay is that they lag behind other retailers in their use of data.

In a statement made to various news outlets, David Tovar, a spokesperson for Walmart has said that the retail giant does not wish to accept Apple Pay
Instead encourages their customers to use the already inbuilt card-free payment system available through their app.
Currently this app doesn’t require the use of an external application like Apple Pay or the Switch network and so there are no extra fees associated with it either.
